Remember The Milk - A Free Web Application To Keep You Organized

Filed under: Miscellaneous — admin @ 4:26 pm

Gentile Readers,

I have just discovered an online task list that is FREE. It is called “Remember The Milk”.  This is a remarkable, user friendly way of managing your task from where ever you are. Below are comments on the features. These are provided by the developer (I do not plagerize), I always give credit.

Manage tasks quickly and easily.
An intuitive interface makes managing tasks fun. Set due dates easily with next Friday or in 2 weeks. Extensive keyboard shortcuts make task management quicker than ever. (THIS IS REALLY COOL)

Add tasks wherever you are.
Adding tasks is as simple as firing off an email (even from your phone). See an important date on the web? Add it to your list with Quick Add.

Work together to get things done.
Share, send and publish tasks and lists with your contacts or the world. Remind your significant other to do their household chores

Locate your tasks.
Use the map to see where your tasks are located in the real world. See what’s nearby or on your way, and plan the best way to get things done.

Organize the way you want to.
Are you a list lover? Create as many lists as you need. Into tagging? Use the task cloud to easily see what you have to do. Want to store notes along with your tasks? You can do that too.

Get reminded, anywhere.
Receive reminders via email, SMS, and instant messenger (AIM, Gadu-Gadu, Google Talk, ICQ, Jabber, MSN, Skype and Yahoo! are all supported).

I have just started using this online applicaltion, and it is doing everything the developer claims it can do.

ps - I am not being paid to review this app. I just wanted you to know about it because it is so useful, and did I mention that it is free?

NOTEWORTHY - Check out this FREE software.

Filed under: Time — admin @ 12:20 pm

All good time managers make use of a to do list. These lists need not be formal or fancy, but they should be organized in task priority order, and they should be looked at hourly if possible.

The problem with most to do list is that they are not “in our face”, and they should be. As the old saying goes, “out of sight, out of mind”.

It’s simply too easy to bury or ignore our to do list, and end our days with little accomplished. I have found a great way to keep my to do list where I can see it. I use a free sticky note software called Crawler Notes. You can download your free copy of this software at: http://www.crawler.com/products/

Here is what the developers have to say about the product:

Crawler Notes Features

  • Unlimited Access to Your Notes

With Crawler Toolbar you can synchronize notes on your desktop with your online notes and access them anywhere you go.

  • Easily Organize Your Activities

Don’t forget important meetings, things to do, shopping lists, etc. Create your own virtual message board right at your desktop and online and never forget important tasks again.

  • Personalize Your Notes

Assign categories to your notes, distinguished by color, font type, and size. Then, adjust the size of your notes and stick them on your desktop.

  • Easy to Use

Crawler’s Notes feature is designed to be user friendly and very simple to operate.Wanna see more? Take a tour…This product is easy to install, and accomplishes its purpose without being intrusive. I like it. It keeps me focused on task. That focus is helping me to be more efficient and productive.

Next posting … Where does the time go?

The Power of Creativity

Filed under: Miscellaneous — admin @ 11:01 am

Creativity can be a very powerful tool. It can be used to express , solve problems, generate wealth building ideas, and much more. So, why aren’t more people using their innate creativity? Well, some folks just don’t know how.

If you are one of those folks, don’t despair. You to can learn to be creative.

For years I have been studying creativity, and have even presented seminars on the topic. You might say that I am a creativity junkie. I am convinced that creativity combined with motivation and self-discipline will produce success and happiness.

If you want to learn to bring out that inborn creativity within you, then check this blog frequently. I will be posting tips, techniques, and links that specifically address creativity.

I’ll begin by sharing this link with you. It addresses “outside the box thinking”. The sire is called “Creativity Slush” and it is authored bt Chris Dunmire.

I hope you like it. The link is; http://www.chrisdunmire.com/creativity/tips.shtml

Search Engine Optimization ** ALERT **

Filed under: Tips — admin @ 9:13 am

 Hello All,

I just received this from SEO expert Chris Cardell.

If you are paying to link to other sites, or if you are charging others to linkk to your site, your page rankings may be at rish.

Dear Charles,

As you may be aware, Google gives every page on the internet, including your web pages, a score. This score is referred to as PageRank.

Although there is controversy in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) circles about the importance of PageRank, it was and still is a fundamental part of how Google determines how high up on the Searches your website will appear.

Every few months, Google does a Pagerank update, where they re-assess that score.

A few days ago, the SEO world got a big shock when Google did a PageRank update. Many site owners woke up to find that their PageRank had dropped.

The reason…… Google has decided to get tough on web sites that buy or sell links. As you probably know, getting good rankings on the search engines is all about getting good links to your site. So an entire industry has built up around selling links. For a while, it worked great. Buy links to your site from other sites with a high PageRank and see your listings storm to the top on Google and the other search engines.

Well, as with much on the internet, those days are now gone. If you’ve got paid links going into your site, you might want to seriously re-consider. If anyone offers you paid links, you’d be well advised to keep clear.

Many website owners have had their fingers seriously burned over this. Hopefully you haven’t but there’s an important lesson here for all of us. Slick tricks online can work short term. But they don’t build strong, long term sustainable profits. That comes from smart internet marketing based on proven principles rather than trying to beat the system.

By the way, if you’re new to PageRank, you can download the Google Toolbar which shows you the PageRank of every page you visit. Do a Google search for ‘Google Toolbar’ for more info.

Best wishes

Chris Cardell

Simple and Powerful Customer Service

Filed under: Customer Service — admin @ 3:48 pm

When I was young (in the 50s and 60s, businesses placed a high priority on customer service. For example, when you went to the gas station, you were greeted by a pleasant attendant who filled your car with gasoline, checked the fluid levels and tire presure, washed your windows, and usually gave you S&H Green Stamps or some other incentive to keep you coming back.

When you went to the grocery store, you could count on friendly service. It was unheard of to ask the customer to check herself out, bag her own groceries, and push the cart to the car herself.

When you called a business or government agency, you always spoke to a live human being.

So, why did customer service die? Profit! Now I am not against profit, but I blieve business should earn that profit by offering good products and services, charging a fair price (not what the market will bear), and by giving great customer service.

As consumers who have choices, we owe it to ourselves to demand good customer service. As business owners we owe it to our customers to provide them with good customer service.

Customer service does not have to be expensive or complicated. View this 3 minute video to see how simple and rewarding it can be. Then post your comments here and let me know what you think about this topic.
